The Schiapparelli Astronomical Society, founded in 1956 and incorporated by public deed in 1963, has the following purposes

research and popularization in the field of astronomical, botanical, geological sciences,

weather, through the enhancement of the skills and passion of volunteers,

collaborating with public and private entities, including the City and Province of Varese, the Region

Lombardy, Arpa also for climatological studies and civil alert activities. It has been managing for over

fifty years, the "Salvatore Furia" Observatory and Citadel of Nature Sciences and the Center

Prealpine Geophysics.

Skills and experience in European territorial cooperation.

Employees and experts of the association collaborate with University of Insubria, University of

Milan and University of Padua in various astronomical research and environmental protection projects.
