Sormano is a municipality in the province of Como and belongs to the Comunità Montana del Triangolo Lariano (a specific mountain community of the area).
It has a population of 638 individuals, and it covers an area of 11 sqm.

Advantages for the Partner in participating in the project
The municipality owns the Astronomical Observatory and has always been involved in the management
and enhancement of this facility, with the understanding that the observatory constitutes a resource
for local development, a garrison for land protection. The realization of the present
project will make it possible to improve the usability and accessibility of the Observatory with the possibility of
to increase visitor attendance; to implement new educational initiatives to
schools, other popular activities for astronomy enthusiasts and the general public;
to have a new modern facility adapted to the new needs of the observatory.
